  1. Do you hate school? Can you stand having 180 days of school a year? Well imagine having school all year round. In some countrys kids and teenagers have to go to school all year round.

  2. Win! Succeed! Defeat them! Why does our society always focus on winning? Why don't people say "Have fun" or "Be fair"? Is it really that important to always win? Well, as much as you may think it is ... it's not. Instead of concentrating on always being victorious, we should focus on working hard, being fair, and having fun! (Rhetorical Question)

  3. Everyone remembers the three months of freedom every year with no rules, no homework, and no school; but what if that was all taken away, what if you wen to school year round.

  4. Do you get bored with school after about the first month? With only having two days off each week, many students quickly get burnt out from their demanding course work. Imagine having two week breaks after each one-month session of school. Focused and relaxed upon returning to school, the students would be able to concentrate more in their classes. Enacting the policy of a year-round school schedule would provide for better comprehension and enhanced learning for all students.

  5. Have you ever played a sport and had a coach tell you that winning was all that mattered? I think people care too much about winning and not enough about having fun. If you don't have fun when you play a sport there is no point in playing.

  6. Do enjoy the minimal three months that we get off of school each year? Well, what would happen if those were ripped out of our unwilling hands? Without those three months that students get off of school each year, would students become worn out out and consistently zoning in and out of class OR would it enhance learning? Perhaps with more days off each week and school all year 'round the students would learn and withhold the information they learn in a school year.

  8. "It doesn't matter who wins or loses. It only matters if you had fun". We have all heard this phrase when playing a sport as a kid. The coaches make it sound like they just want every person involved to just have fun, but we all find out otherwise later on. Coaches and schools put way too much emphasis on winning in sports for kids.

  9. Whatever happened to the fun in the game? it seems like the only thing anyone every cares about is winning. People are too competitive and are starting to go way over board. As long as your having fun in a game who cares if you win? Winning isnt everything, and everybody needs to remember how fun everything was when nobody cared about who came in first.

    rhetorical question .

  10. You train for year. Your doctor says you have to slow down because you are hurting your body. You don't want to hear that, so you leave him and get a new doctor. What would push you to these limits? Your ex-boyfriend's girlfriend is in the olympics, and you want to beat her. Winning things has started human beings to drive themselves to extremes.

    incident.

  11. "Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is"
That's what i've been told having the same soccer coach for about four years. But the truth is, he wanted us to win. Plain and simple. Some if not all people want to win, it's natural, but i think society needs to go back a few years when nothing mattered but how fun playing was. What ever happened to the fun in the game and where has that innocence gone? I'm a firm believer that trying is good enough, if you want to win thats all that matters. Me personally, i love the winning, i can take the losing, but most of all i love to play.

  12. The great Celtic Larry Bird once said…“A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.” Ah the good old days when winning wasn’t everything and people truly believed that hard work, dedication, and determination actually meant more than winning. What happened to those days? I’ll tell you what happened; society completely forgot about the lessons learned from hard work and began to focus only on the prize at the end. Today we believe that nothing else matters other than who has the most points when the buzzer goes off instead of realizing all that was taught and developed away from the court; the life lessons, the friendships, and the courage that will last forever not just the glory of that one victory that will fade in a day.

  13. At the end of my eighth grade year, i was a timid young man terrified of high school. I knew little of the school and very few older friends. Despite my quietness and fear i hesitantly decided to join the marching band. By the end of the summer, i was a confident outgoing freshmen who was in no means scared of my coming high school career. I had all the necessities to succeed: superb friends, an abundance of confidence, and a mental map of the High School. For these specific reasons i believe that every student should participate in school organizations. They build the friendship, confidence, and self-esteem that so many children lack.

  15. Senior mentors, Clean Teens(haha Hope & Ashley), Click busters, Student Council, and many more. Do you think that it is nessisary to belong in a club or orginiztion in your high school career? Many people like to make there high school years as memorable as possible and they think that they can acheive this by doing all the activitess that they can. while others believe that just being with your friends and having a good time being young will make there high school days the best of there lives. some people belive that being in a club or orginization will also help prerare you for life on your own. this isnt always true...

  17. Emily's Blog:

What is the most important aspect of athletics? Is it the rush of adrenaline? Is it the roar of the crowd? Is it glory of victory? It seems as if today, in the athletic realm, people have lost focus of what is truly gained by "playing the game." Where in the past, parents have applauded the learning of lessons from mistakes and have relished witnessing their child put out his absolute effort during an event, they now scrutinize their child for each and every mistake they make and criticize him for losing a game. Its that how athletics should work? Isn't there more to life than winning, than "having the most toys?" Today's society is so simple-minded. All it can see is the goal, the prize, the victory. But when only the end product can be seen, all the benefits one gains along the way are completely brushed over. Contrary to society's perception of athletics, there are more benefits to be gained and more prizes to be won than that of the victory. (rhetorical question)
