Ed... V for Vendetta is such a great movie!!! Personally i think that it is largely underrated and underappreciated. I love the interesting character of V. He is so mysterious and powerful. V for Vendetta has to be one of my top ten movies out there... it is great!!!
Danny... I also love cars alot!!! my dad used to race so we sorta like the fast and the furious series. The first one was the absolute best in my opinion. Though the series is quite awesome i am still a victim of the more "classic" racing movies i guess you would call them. Such as the orginal "Gone in Sixty Seconds" and the absolute best "Bullitt" -Joe Ritz
i agree with mike on favorite movies. Pineapple express is a very good movie, it has humor but at the same time a serious plot. The matrix is also a very well directed and produced movie. It has an intense story line, and keeps you interested! The special effects are incredible as well. I also love cars!! so that is why i agree with danny with gone in seconds for one of the best movies! it has so much action and great cars!
I like Ashley and Joe's favorite movies. One was a blockbuster hit that almost everyone can agree is a top 20, maybe top 10 greatest film. That would be The Last Crusade. Adam Sandler in Click is on the surface another silly Adam Sandler film but if you look at 2 or 3 really touching moments like when he looks at himself talk to his dad for the last time before he died and he is a total jerk and at the end when he is dieing the movie is quite emotional. Surprisingly well directed/acted out scenes.
I totally agree with Ed and Kenny. V for Vendetta is an amazing movie! It's deffinetly one that you have to pat attention to though. Step Brothers is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen; I was cracking up the entire time.
Matt...Remember the Titans is most certainly one of the best movies of all time. I first watched in in my 6th grade English class, and I love watching it whenever it comes on T.V. It is so moving to watch the players form an unbreakable bond with one another despite surrounding social tensions. Definitely a powerful concept.
Hope... The lifetime movie network is on just about every Saturday in my house (go figure with 3 women living there :] ) and I always get really excited when someone my age actually watches it :] I have always wanted to see Odd Girl Out. When I first saw it advertised, however, I was pretty young and I was afraid it would be too intense for me. Now that I'm older though, i think I can handle it, as well as understand the themes better. Also, I don't think it will take too much effort to convince my sister to watch it with me!
I'm so with Lauren, its so hard to pick just one movie! but Micah--> Monsters Inc. Was a great movie! Yeah, it was simply made for the enjoyment of kids it still had a great story line that was new to Disney and Pixar, it didn't really go along with the hole Disney Princesses thing, but it was still very good.& The animation in Monsters Inc. was amazing ! Matt---> Remember the Titans is on my top ten list of favorites. Everyone loves a great sports movie, but this one had a twist to, it also involved the civil rights movement too. Remember the Titans showed great themes as well as life long lessons that you could never forget. I've seen it so many times, but it'll never get old.
Janet...I love Pride and Prejudice too, but I like the book better than the movie. I have only seen the Kiera Knightly version though, not the other one. It is really interesting after seeing Becoming Jane because there are so many parallels between Jane Austen's life and the book/movies. I also really like Marie Antoinette because it is interesting seeing her side of the story and not just what you hear about in history classes. Another reason I love that movie is because the costumes, the music, and the cinematography are all really cool.
Hope...I also really like the Lifetime movie Odd Girl Out. My grandma has lifetime on all the time and I saw it once when I was at her house. I like it because it keeps you interested because it is so intense and sad at the same time.
Leah, We seem to have similar taste. My favorite actress is also Audrey Hepburn. Breakfast at Tiffanys is a great movie. Funny Face, Roman Holiday, and Sabrina are some more of my favorite Audrey Hepburn movies. I thought the music in Marie Antoinette was spectacular along with the costumes because they were so modern against a historic story line.
Phil, Though I have never seen Snatch, it sound quite good. I have always been drawn more to British comedy than American comedy. This is not because Americans lack in funnyness. The Brits just seem to be more witty, quick, and deeper. You do usually have to be halfway intelligent to get what they are making a joke about..or in some cases not. It's a very enjoyable style to watch take place. PBS is always having good shows on usually about old people who are just raunchy as all get out.
Kenny, Step brothers is a great movie. it is one of my favorites. i always love a movie that can make me laugh. i laugh the entire movie.
Phil, I have actually seen snatch. its a great film. i have to agree; it is somewhat difficult to follow because there are so many different main characters with their own stories that tie together. i love the humor in it too. id like to end with a quote. "No, Tommy. There's a gun in your trousers. What's a gun doing in your trousers? " ...."It's for protection. " ...."Protection from what? "Zee Germans"? "
Papa Wellman- I'm glad to see that I am not the only teenage guy who fawns over animated movie made for children. I thought Madagascar was simply alright though. No other animation studio can come anywhere close to what Pixar is doing. I'm actually watching Ratatouille now and it's just mindblowing how consistently great their films are.
Leah- That seems to be a popular choice among teenage/college age girls now, which kind of strikes me as odd. Do you like other films from that era or just that one? I'm a big James Dean fan so I guess it wouldn't be too odd for you to be a big Audrey Hepburn fan.
Matt- "Madagascar" should have won all of the Oscars. The comedic writing and time was perfect to the point where you laughed, but you still had moments to breathe. I like watching movies that don't kill me. It's also just so very deep. The inner conflict that Marty the zebra goes through about what color his skin is reminds me of the worlds own racial tensions. Also, Alex's conflict bout wanting to kill and eat his best friend is, well, just something I can personally relate to.
Luke- I love "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"! Before this movie, amputation wasn't even half as fun! I also really liked how Heath Ledger played the Joker in "The Dark Knight".
i would have to agree with Ashley and Kenny. Click is one of my favorites too. Adam Sandler is an amazing actor! I still remember going to the movies to see it and feeling like a lame because i was crying at the end. haha. And Kenny, Step Brothers is by far the funniest movie i've seen in a long time. My favorite part was the bunk beds and when he was flipping out because there was a lot of blood but really it was just a little cut. I was basically one the ground laughing, but i also liked the part when there were fighting in the yard. That was good too, :) Well basically, i was laughing the whole movie!
Micah - I love your taste in Pixar movies. We talked about Wall-E today, and Monsters Inc. is another fantastic movie! Haha the best part has to be the scene with the thousands of doors that they move through. Such a fun movie!
Ed - I LOVE V for Vendetta!! It is without a doubt one of the greatest movies ever produced. The symbolism is soooo deep and meaningful. It has one of the greatest plots and one of the most necessary messages a movie can make: question your government. AHHH! What a great movie!
I agree with Kenny about Tropic Thunder. I was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It also had some great actors. I also agree with Matt. Madagascar is an amazing movie, and i still enjoy watching it today.
To start off i just wanted everyone to know that i think that most of your choices are really good i have seen almost all of the movies talked about except janets movie... Kenny- i wanted to say that i also thought that Tropical Thunder was an amazing movie. the main reason was because of the fact that the actors are not only acting in the part of the movie but they have to act as an actor, having two roles in a sense, which i think would be a very hard thing to pull off! I also thought that Jack Black played an awesome part and was absolutley histerbical.
Micah- i totally knew that you were going to pick those two movies. i really must agree with you that momento is an awesome movie and if you dont like monsters inc, well then who are you?
I think Kenny and Chris both have great taste in movies as I also enjoyed Step Brothers as I have seen it somewhere around 10 times. I also agree with Mike on the fact that Enemy at the Gates was an amazing film. I just watched it the other day for the first time and wondered why it took me so long to watch it.
Kevin... Blackhawk Down is a great movie! I'm a big history and war buff so that movie is one of my favorites. I love all the action and the way they portray the events that took place in Somalia is amazing. Your right about the dialogue it keeps you interested throughtout the whole movie and the action keeps you on the edge of your seat. Great Choice!
Kenny... Step Brothers is a great movie too. I've seen it like 3 times and it gets funnier every time I watch it! I love all the stupid jokes that they throw in that keep you laughing even when you shouldn't! Will Farrel is hilarious!!!!!! And I love all the random comments that the characters make back and forth to each other there really funny! But I would have to say my favorite part is the bathroom seen when the girl is peeing in the urinal! STAY STRONG PONY BOY!!!!!
Lauren, I was forced to watch Rent, and I have to say I hated it. The whole movie was about AIDS. It was pretty messed up. Also, Matt. Remember the Titans was an amazing movie. Another good one like that was We Are Marshall.
Ed... V for Vendetta is such a great movie!!! Personally i think that it is largely underrated and underappreciated. I love the interesting character of V. He is so mysterious and powerful. V for Vendetta has to be one of my top ten movies out there... it is great!!!

ReplyDeleteI have never heard of kjdieri...what is it about? HA HA - just kidding!

ReplyDeleteA.)you should see it
B.)never mess with a gypsy
