Let's"communicate" about our favorite movie and why we love it so much! Be sure to write a full paragraph!

  1. I don't have a single favorite movie; I love several. My favorite kinds of movies are musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, the Producers, and RENT because they have an awesone plot line as well as good songs. I also love movies such as When Harry Met Sally and Sweet Home Alabama because they are funny and romantic :)

  2. While there are many movies that I like, my absolute favorite is definitely Breakfast at Tiffany's. Not only is this movie a classic, but it also stars Audrey Hepburn, my favorite actress, as the main character named Holly Golightly. Breakfast at Tiffany's possesses a perfectly balanced combination of humor and romance. There is also a much deeper plot line of Holly's search for her place in the world as well as the essence of her own personality. In my opinion, Breakfast at Tiffany's incorporates all of the perfect elements of a story into one amazing movie.

  3. I think i'm goin to continue on the classic movie theme and say that Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is my single favorite movie. While it was only made in '89 i still believe that this movie is the granddaddy of all modern action movies. The combination of the directing talent from both Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, musical talent of John Williams, and excellent acting abilities of Harrison Ford and Sean Connery (one of the greatest actors ever!!!) are truly second to none. Addittionally, this movie has everything that any movie lover would want: a gripping plot, intense action scenes (for its time), and comical relief (provided by Ford and Connery's excellent chemistry). In my opinion, The Last Crusade is simply one of the single greatest movies ever.

  4. Undoubtedly the best movie ever:

    Snatch.

And yes, I know that almost none of you will have even heard of it, which is quite sad. It's a 2005 British crime movie directed by Guy Ritchie. It is by far the greatest movie that I have ever seen in terms of characters, plot, and writing. With 13 main characters, you really have to watch closely to what's going on. The plot is very twisted and fast-paced, and centers around the theft of a very large diamond and the many people who are after it. While the plot and characters are fantastic, the writing is even better. Snatch is a comedy, but the writing isn't that typical slapstick crap associated with comedies. It is incredibly witty and creative! The one thing that you have to watch out for is the HUGE amount of swearing and the 20 second scene in a strip club. If those do not bother you, then PLEASE go rent this movie today.

  5. I agree with Lauren in that I couldn't choose just one movie to be my single favorite film, but I guess if I absolutely had to make a choice, it would be the musical "Annie." I saw "Annie" when I was really young, and I used to sing the songs from it everywhere I went. For the longest time, a heart-shaped locket was on the top of my Christmas list, and that is the only reason I ever wanted one. I know just about every word to every song in it, and I never get tired of watching it. Its a pretty familiar story in terms of themes and characters, but I still consider it a classic.

  6. I have been asked this question several times and everytime i come up with the same answer:

    requiemforapiworkorangeapplerollingexpress....

In english that means that my favorite movies are Requiem for a Dream, Pi, A Clockwork Orange, Pinapple Express, and Rolling Kansas.
These are my faovrite movies because i like movies that have humor yet can be very serious. Requiem for a Dream would have to be my all time favorite fil though.

  8. I don't have a favorite movie; Mainly because I've seen so many. My top three though would have to be "V for Vendetta", "12 Monkeys", and "Total Recall". I also really enjoy superhero movies. "V for Vendetta" is about a masked vigilante who has a plan to bring down the fascist government. 12 Monkeys is about A man living in a distopian future who goes back in time to stop the spread of a disease that almost annihilates human kind. Any movie with a hero, trying to do work for the greater good, usually gets to me.

  9. My favourite movie of all time is Monsters Inc., which is sort of an odd choice since I'd more than likely choose Memento to be my second favourite film. Both of those films utilize great story telling techniques that create suspense and never quite give away what exactly is happening next or what has happened previously in the case of Memento as its story is told backwards. While Monsters Inc. is a film that is meant to simply be enjoyed, it truly is great in that regard, but Memento takes the art of cinema to a new level with its storytelling device of telling the plot backwards. Other movies I have thoroughly enjoyed are I'm Not There, which is a film about Bob Dylan, but he is portrayed by six different actors and actresses at different points in his life, Pulp Fiction, There Will Be Blood, Wall-E, Toy Story, and Little Miss Sunshine.

  10. Pride and Prejudice is my classic movie of choice. It also comes in book form, written by the lovely Jane Austen. I have seen the movie (both versions) about 45 times(combined). Until this year, I was forced to go to the library to get Pride and Prejudice, and I always had late fines on it because I never wanted to give it back. Though, now I own the BBC version, the Kiera Knightly version, and the book. Romantic movies are not all I fancy. I also enjoy a good viewing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Domino, and Marie Antoinette.

  11. My favorite movie would have to be Click with Adam Sandler. It was a combination of funny and sad. I love movies that make me laugh but can also make me cry. This isnt about the movie really, but it bothers me how everyone in this blog uses big words i cant understand and then i sound like a stupid freashman because i dont use gigantic words. But anyway i love the ending of the movie when the viewer believes that Michael Newman(Adam Sandler)is about to die. At that point i was literally bawling my eyes out. Everyone in the movie theater was looking back and staring at me. My second favorite is Disturbia with Shia Lebouf. ahhhhhhhh! Love thattttt moviee (:

  12. My favorite movie, i would have too say , would be Odd Girl Out.
It was my made-for-TV movie on Lifetime, that most people haven't seen but i think if it was in the Cinema it would have been appreciated more by a wider audience. But i love the movie because its realistic, it portrays how verbal bullying, and what some girls do, and say too each other isn't as harmless as most people think. Some people will put up with and do all kind of crazy stuff just to be accepted, which too me, isn't asking for much but with some people it is. It also shows the true emotion of girls being bullied. Alexa Vega is amazing in this movie, it was all very true and real to me. It's almost a darker version of Mean Girls. Odd Girl Out focuses on the golden rule " Treat others the way you want to be treated" needless to say, this movie is amazing. I also like the movies, Twilight, P.S. iloveyou, and Marie Antoinette.

  13. My favorite movie is Blackhawk Down. The movie has won alot of awards for sound and picture. The movie has lessons, drama, and action (the best part). It plays 3 or 4 characters at the same time in this huge Somalian city but all in the same battle and it keeps you interested. You will get sucked a dialogue between to characters and it will be all quite, then all of the sudden it will break into 4-5 minutes of a big gun battle then it will switch to another character in another part of the city. The movie did really show you what the soldiers felt and it explained what Somalia was like at the time. I watch on a regular basis and frankly it sounds amazing on surround sound.

  15. I can't just pick a number one favorite movie. It depends on the type of movie. My favorite romance would be "The Notebook" its a classic love story and keeps you one the edge of your seat the entire movie. My favorite action movie is "The Dark Knight" it is full of suspence and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole movie. "Step Brothers" is deffinately my favorite comedy it had me laughing the whole entire time. My favorie horror movie would be, well i could live without horror. I don't really have a favorite. I end up missing more of the movie than i watch because my hands are covering my face. haha. But those are a few of my favorite movies. A few more would be, Never Back Down, The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift, Seven Pounds, Twilight and many more!

  16. It would be hard to pick a favorite movie for me, because there are a few that I would have to say are my favorites. First would be the Fast and The Furious movies because I am crazy about cars, and the movies are all about really nice, modified cars. Not to mention they all have really exciting plots. My next favorite would have to be Saving Private Ryan because to me it is fascinating how well they could portray World War 2 from the point of view of the soldiers. My last favorite would have to be The Shining. It is a classic horror movie with a really fun plot, which is different from the book, but just as good in my opinion.

  17. One of my favorite movies is Step Brothers. It was very funny and had a very interesting plot. It was a different kind of movie then I have ever seen before. Also Tropic Thunder is another one of my favorites. This movie is hysterical and has a lot of action. I liked how they put them in an actual war when they were supposed to be acting in a war.

  18. WOW! Tough question. Its hard to classify what I would consider my favorite movie because there are alot of movies that I like but none that I would really consider my "favorite". But if I had to guess what my favorite movie is I would have to say "Remember the Titans" because its not just a movie about football its also a movie with lessons for the viewers to learn. The movie tells the story of what it was like for African-Americans to grow up in the south during the civil rights era and how their lives are affected by racism and prejudice. The movie also shows what can happen when we as individuals learn to move past what we have been taught by our parents and begin to understand our own ideas about life. When we can move past just what a person looks like on the outside and really understand who they are...not just what their skin color is. And once we are able to do this we can learn alot about ourselves too. Finally, I think the movie gives a great message about what a team can accomplish when they come together they cannot only defeat opponents on the field but if they stand together they can defeat the hatred of those individuals who don't agree with what they believe in. The movie teaches about what it means to be a team and what can happen when people come together to succeed at a common goal no matter what skin color they are.

  19. There are many movies that I could choose from to be my favorite. But I think that Madagascar rises above them all. I like this movie because it is funny and has things for all ages. It can make even the most depressed person smile. I also think it brings out the kid in everyone. There are tons of movies that are great and that I could watch at any time but I don't think any of them are as good as Madagascar.

  20. Matt, you really went to the bottom of the ocean on that one...very deep. Anyways, my favorite move is Fireproof now. I just saw it over the weekend, and it was AWESOME. It had the best message in the world. I already bought it on DVD. In addition, I like Life as a House, Seven Pounds (how sad!), The Notebook, The Butterfly Effect, and many more. I like movies that make me cry because they touch my heart...and my soul. Hope you guys are enjoying your day off!

  23. Mrs. Stallman,
The butterfly effect was a really good movie. Although i was too young to understand it at the time i watched it over when i was a bit older and it was amazing. For a while i thought i was the only person that watched that movie because everyone else i talked to about it had no idea what i was talking about. I think Ashton Kutcher did a great job in that movie. The movie kept me guessing and kept me at the edge of my seat, and the writers outdid themselves by making sure the movie didn't end with some lame ending.

  24. i didn't post on time, but i figured i would post late anyways. i would have to say that my favorite movie is band of brothers. although its one of the longest movies ive ever seen, its definately my favorite. its a war movie about world war II. i like it because world war II really catches my interest and band of brothers is a very detailed, graphic film about it. The realism is so captivating it makes you feel like you are on the frontline with the soldiers. i recommend this movie, only if you have an entire day to watch it.

  25. I think that Step Brothers is my favorite movie. Will Ferrell is one of the best actors around. He can become any character they need him to be, and he is always funny. My other favorite movie is Elf, which he is also in.
